Healthy Eating Starts with Knowing Your Resources

MyPlate.gov is a reminder for healthy eating that was developed by the USDA. The focus of MyPlate starts with simple steps you can take to develop healthy eating habits that will last you a lifetime.

MyPlate encourages you to start with small changes and then build on those changes. The iconic plate that is the central symbol for MyPlate focuses on making healthy food and beverage choices from all five food groups.

The five food groups from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) are:
Fruits
Vegetables
Grains
Protein foods
Dairy
