Open Enrollment begins Monday, November 5, and you don’t want to wait until then to learn about your options or to get prepared. After all, this is the ONE time of the year when you can make changes to your Section 125 benefit elections without a qualifying life event. Not only are you possibly going to live with your benefit elections for an entire year, but the choices you make could mean thousands of dollars to you.
What do you need to do and how should you prepare?
Start by learning about your options for next year. I’ll be sending emails and posting flyers, and you can also check here for regular updates. There’s an entire page on myMonarc.org to keep you updated on Open Enrollment for 2019 at The Arc of Washington County. Perhaps the best way to learn more is to attend a 30-minute information session during which we’ll discuss our three medical plan options and other major changes for the 2019 plan year. Stay longer than 30 minutes, and we’ll have Q&A on other employee benefits.
Location: Board of Directors Conference Room at 840A Florida Avenue.
- Monday, October 29: 10 am, 4:30 pm*
- Tuesday, October 30: 9 am*, 11 am, or 2:30 pm
- Wednesday, October 31: 9:30 am, or 1 pm*
- Thursday, November 1: 8 am, 9:30 am, 1 pm or 3 pm
- Friday, November 2: 12 noon, or 2:30 pm
* This meeting is for Outreach staff (although other staff are welcome to attend). Information meetings have been posted to our events calendar.
You don’t need to RSVP to attend an information session. Just pick a date/time that suits your schedule. During Open Enrollment, you may want an appointment to complete your enrollment with the help of a benefits counselor. Visit tinyurl.com/2019enroll to reserve your 1-on-1 enrollment session.
As an employee of The Arc of Washington County, if you are eligible for benefits, you must either enroll or waive coverage for the benefit plan year that starts January 1, 2019. Attend an information session and make an informed decision about your benefits.
Once you have information about your benefit options, you can think about how you are likely to use your benefits next year, and consider coverage for any eligible family members. We’ll talk more about this during the information sessions.
