Open Enrollment for 2023

Open enrollment

Look here for announcements and updates about Open Enrollment
for employees of The Arc of Washington County for the benefit plan year that starts January 1, 2023.

At The Arc of Washington County, we know that benefit requirements change. That’s why we have an Open Enrollment period each year.

For most employee benefits, Open Enrollment is the only time of year you are allowed to make enrollment changes unless you experience a qualifying life event such as marriage, divorce, birth or placement of a child, losing or gaining eligibility for other coverage, etc. During Open Enrollment, you should consider the benefits you have today and ask yourself if they will serve you and your loved ones well in the coming plan year.

Open Enrollment starts Monday, November 7, 2022.

What we are doing to make benefits better for you in 2023:

  • For the third year in a row, there will be no change in your share of premiums for all medical plans. Any additional plan costs for 2023 are being covered by The Arc WC.
  • The Arc WC will have an active open enrollment from November 7 through November 11, 2022. You must make an active benefits decision at open enrollment; benefits will not auto renew. Benefit counselors will be available to help you one on one with your benefit choices as well as provide education on existing and new benefit programs so be ready to sign up for your one-on-one meeting at tinyurl.com/2023Enroll.
  • The annual deductible for all medical plan options will be reduced to $2,000/individual or $4,000/family. This is the fourth year in a row that the deductible has been reduced for all medical plan options!
  • If you are a full-time employee, there will be no change in your share of premiums for the dental plans – additional costs are being covered by The Arc WC’s subsidy for full-time employees. Part-time employees will see a slight increase. In addition, the buy-up option will cover dental implants starting in 2023.
  • We will continue to partner with the country’s largest pharmacy benefit manager, CVS/Caremark to bring you greater discounts, enhanced access, and improved member services.
  • Based on your feedback from our Health and Wellness survey in 2022, we are extremely pleased to announce a new partnership with Peak Health.  The new program for employees enrolled in an Aetna medical plan will provide free nurse-administered health evaluations, free labs, and wellness education to help you adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Get rewarded for your efforts in reaching health goals – and become eligible for a $30 per pay wellness credit each pay.

We are pleased to have been able to make the following benefits enhancements in the last few years:

  • We reduced your share of health insurance premiums in 2020 and have been able to maintain those rates for you for the 2021, 2022 and 2023 plan years.
  • The Arc WC contributes $20 per pay (up to $520 annually) to your Health Savings Account (HSA) when you are enrolled in the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan with an HSA.
  • The Arc WC reimburses you up to $1,000 a year in qualifying medical expenses when you are enrolled in the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).
  • Receive a wellness credit of $15 per pay next year (up to $390 annually) for completing your in-network routine adult wellness exam by the end of this year (12/31/2022). This benefit can increase to $30 per pay through participation in a new program offered through Peak Health in 2023.
  • We’ve steadily reduced heath plan deductibles from $5,500 to $2,000 for individual coverage.
  • We added a second dental option with enhanced benefits, including orthodontia and soon dental implants.
  • During renovations, we installed a gymnasium at 840 Florida Avenue for staff and people supported.

What do you need to do?

  • There is no automatic enrollment for your 2023 benefits; you have to make new elections for the new plan year. If you were hired on or before 10/31/2022 and want to have benefits in 2023, you need to enroll again. The same is true if you want to decline benefits in 2023.
  • Review your current benefits and consider any changes you may wish to make for 2023. See below for more information on how to review your current benefits.
  • Starting November 7, log into KTBSonline.com and complete your self-enrollment for changes that will take effect January 1, 2023. OR sign-up at tinyurl.com/2023enroll for an appointment to enroll with a benefits consultant.
  • Interested in Whole Life from Unum? Whether you are interested in a new policy or increasing or decreasing current coverage amounts, you’ll need to speak with a specially licensed agent. Please schedule an appointment at tinyurl.com/2023enroll.
  • Be aware that some rates may change for 2023. If you enroll in a plan that uses your age to determine your rates – such as voluntary term life insurance – and you had a milestone birthday (one ending in a 0 or 5), the cost of your coverage will likely increase next year. Any rate changes won’t be available until Open Enrollment starts on November 7. Once Open Enrollment starts, you can log in to
  • KTBSonline.com to see your rates, or discuss them during your appointment with a benefits counselor.

If you were hired on or before October 31, 2022, and you work 20 or more hours a week, you are eligible for employee benefits and must make decisions about your coverage for 2023.

Benefit enrollment is easy! You can complete your Open Enrollment elections online 24/7 at KTBSonline.com starting November 7 or you can schedule a telephone appointment with a benefits counselor at tinyurl.com/2023enroll.

If you schedule an enrollment appointment, please prepare for it: Know the names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and addresses of your dependents and beneficiaries. Please help keep us on schedule by calling the phone number assigned to your appointment at your appointed time. Benefits counselors are helping other callers and may not be available if you call before your appointed time.

Information is available. Learn before you enroll! Be on the lookout for informational emails, videos, and plan materials starting in October 2022.

How do I get an enrollment appointment with a benefits counselor? Visit tinyurl.com/2023enroll and sign-up for an appointment with a benefits counselor. Telephone appointments are available every 20 minutes from 7:00 am through 5:00 pm Monday, November 7 through Thursday, November 10. Please note that appointments are not being taken for Friday, November 11. Instead, we will be taking enrollments on a first-come, first-served basis – and you may need to wait in line. We will have only two benefit counselors available on Friday, November 11. Avoid waiting by scheduling and keeping your enrollment appointment by Thursday afternoon. If you need help getting online to make the appointment, ask the person in your department who handles scheduling to help you make the appointment or contact Janis Williamson in Human Resources.

I’m confused about my options. Where can I get more information? For more information, take a look at these downloadable documents in PDF format. Starting in October, I will be adding documents as we get them – and I appreciate your patience:

If you have other questions, just let me know. The best way to reach me will be by email.
