Open Enrollment for 2024

Open enrollment

Look here for announcements and updates about Open Enrollment
for employees of The Arc of Washington County for the benefit plan year that starts January 1, 2024.

At The Arc of Washington County, we know that benefit requirements change. That’s why we have an Open Enrollment period each year.

For most employee benefits, Open Enrollment is the only time of year you are allowed to make enrollment changes unless you experience a qualifying life event such as marriage, divorce, birth or placement of a child, losing or gaining eligibility for other coverage, etc. During Open Enrollment, you should consider the benefits you have today and ask yourself if they will serve you and your loved ones well in the coming plan year.

Open Enrollment started Monday, November 6, 2023, and ends Friday, November 10, 2023.

  • Do you need help enrolling? visit this page: tinyurl.com/2024Enroll
  • Do you want to self-enroll or decline coverage? These instructions can help.
  • Do you want to decline all coverage? Complete a waiver and return it to HR.

What we are doing to make benefits better for you in 2024:

  • For the fourth year in a row, there will be no change in your share of premiums for all medical plans. Any additional plan costs for 2024 are being covered by The Arc WC.
  • The Arc WC will have an active open enrollment from November 6 through November 10, 2023. You must make an active benefits decision at open enrollment; benefits will not auto renew. Benefit counselors will be available to help you one on one with your benefit choices as well as provide education on existing and new benefit programs so be ready to sign up for your one-on-one meeting at tinyurl.com/2024Enroll.
  • If you are a full-time employee, there will be no change in your share of premiums for the dental plans – any additional costs are being covered by The Arc WC.
  • We will continue to partner with Peak Health for our Healthy Steps wellness program for employees enrolled in an Aetna medical plan. This program provides free nurse-administered health evaluations, free labs, and wellness education to help you adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Get rewarded for your efforts in reaching health goals – and receive wellness credits of up to $30 per pay (up to $780 per year).
  • NEW! Starting in 2024, The Arc WC will provide employer-paid Short-Term Disability coverage to all benefits-eligible employees (those classified to work 20 hours or more per week). This coverage will provide income equal to 60% of your covered earnings up to $1,500 a week after 14 days of being unable to work due to illness or injury.

We are pleased to have been able to make the following benefits enhancements in the last five years:

  • We reduced your share of health insurance premiums in 2020 and have been able to maintain those rates for you for the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 plan years.
  • The Arc WC contributes $20 per pay (up to $520 annually) to your Health Savings Account (HSA) when you are enrolled in the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan with an HSA.
  • The Arc WC reimburses you up to $1,000 a year in qualifying medical expenses when you are enrolled in the Qualified High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).
  • We will continue to partner with the country’s largest pharmacy benefit manager, CVS/Caremark to bring you greater discounts, enhanced access, and improved member services.
  • Receive a wellness credit of up to $30 per pay (up to $780 annually) through participation in our Healthy Steps wellness program administered by Peak Health. This program launched in 2023.
  • We reduced heath plan deductibles from $5,500 to $2,000 for individual coverage.
  • We added a second dental option with enhanced benefits, including orthodontia and dental implants.
  • During renovations, we installed a gymnasium at 840 Florida Avenue for staff and people supported.

What do you need to do?

  • There is no automatic enrollment for your 2024 benefits; you have to make new elections for the new plan year. If you were hired on or before 10/31/2023 and want to have benefits in 2024, you need to enroll again. The same is true if you want to decline benefits in 2024. Two exceptions: Open Enrollment does not affect your 403(b) retirement plan enrollment or any current Whole Life policies with Unum.
  • If you are currently enrolled, review your current benefits and consider any changes you may wish to make for 2024. See below for more information on how to review your current benefits.
  • You can also add, change, decline, or drop coverage for yourself and your eligible dependents during Open Enrollment.
  • Because we are moving to a new benefits platform, you will need to rename your life insurance beneficiaries.
  • Make an appointment to meet 1-on-1 with a benefits consultant during Open Enrollment by signing up at sign-up at tinyurl.com/2024Enroll.
  • Starting November 6, you will be able to self-enroll on our new payroll and benefits platform. We will be sending out instructions on how to self-enroll.
  • Be aware that some rates may change for 2024. If you enroll in a plan that uses your age to determine your rates – such as voluntary term life insurance – and you had a milestone birthday (one ending in a 0 or 5), the cost of your coverage will likely increase next year. Any rate changes won’t be available until Open Enrollment starts on November 6.

If you were hired on or before October 31, 2023, and you work 20 or more hours a week, you are eligible for employee benefits and must make decisions about your coverage for 2024.

If you schedule an enrollment appointment, please prepared for it: Know the names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and addresses of your dependents and beneficiaries. Please help keep us on schedule by sticking to your appointed time.

Information is available. Learn before you enroll! Be on the lookout for informational emails, videos, and plan materials starting in October 2023.

Open Enrollment Frequently Asked Questions

How can I confirm what I’m currently enrolled in? Visit KTBSonline.com to view your current enrollment elections. For a quick idea of your current benefits, you can also review your payroll deductions on myMiTC.

Can I self-enroll? Yes! Self-service online enrollment will be available 24/7 from November 6 through 10, 2023. We will be sending out information on how to self-enroll.

How do I get an enrollment appointment with a benefits counselor? Visit tinyurl.com/2024enroll and sign-up for an appointment with a benefits counselor. Telephone appointments are available every 20 minutes from 7:00 am through 5:00 pm Monday, November 6 through Thursday, November 9. Please note that appointments are not being taken for Friday, November 10. Instead, we will be taking enrollments on a first-come, first-served basis – and you may need to wait in line. We will only have one benefit counselor available on Friday, November 11. Avoid waiting by scheduling and keeping your enrollment appointment by Thursday afternoon. If you need help getting online to make the appointment, ask the person in your department who handles scheduling to help you make the appointment or contact Janis Williamson in Human Resources.

I’m confused about my options. Where can I get more information? For more information, take a look at these downloadable documents in PDF format. Starting in October, I will be adding documents as we get them – and I appreciate your patience:

If you have other questions, just let me know. The best way to reach me will be by email.
